Marketing Assistant

Job Role: Marketing Assistant, full time.

Salary: £20,800 – £23,000

Area: ST12 9DQ

Hours: Standard hours are between 9.00am to 5.30pm, 40 hours per week. However, flexibility will be required to work early mornings or later evenings to accommodate networking events for example.

28 days’ holiday per annum, plus one additional day per year of service – up to 33 days.

The Planterra Business Centre houses a range of businesses across various industries, mainly having synergy with the horticultural and construction sector. Our businesses are rapidly expanding, and we pride ourselves on our high standard of work and the excellent service that we offer, providing bespoke solutions for our clients.

Based in the Planterra Business Centre, OakHouse Professional supports the marketing needs of all of the companies based within the centre. This currently includes Blue Iris Landscapes, Japanese Knotweed Expert, ProHort, Planterra, The Oak Pot Company and The Barlaston Tool Shed.

About the role:

As a marketing assistant, you will work alongside our Marketing Manager to provide support in a variety of ways. You will build your knowledge, develop your skill set, and gain on the job experience.

Duties will include;

  • Working closely with the Marketing Manager to assist in the development of individual strategies for clients.
  • Assisting with the development, planning, writing and distribution of newsletters and blog posts.
  • Assisting in the creation and upkeep of both company and client websites.
  • Assisting in the design, creation and print of physical marketing materials.
  • Assisting in the creation and editing of promotional videos.
  • Supporting the marketing team with the creation, writing, and editing of social media posts across a variety of platforms as required.
  • Proofreading and quality control of all media produced.
  • Identifying and implementing new marketing ideas.
  • Possible assistance will be required with events – pending future social changes and updates.
  • Assisting any other office colleagues as required.

About you:

  • Good computer skills – video and photo editing preferred but not required.
  • Experience with WordPress and Mailchimp preferred but not required.
  • Experience with online platforms, updating and creating. (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn.)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Self-motivated and results driven, eager to learn and motivated by targets.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
  • Excellent organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
